Learning Objectives

At the end of the course students will be able to use spreadsheets (namely Microsoft Excel) to

  • summarize, report, and analyze business data;
  • build analytic models to increase profits, reduce costs, or manage operations more efficiently;
  • save time (i.e. being able to achieve good results in less time).

Learning targets

At the end of the course students will be able to use spreadsheets (namely Microsoft Excel) to

Course Content

The course starts by presenting the most important spreadsheet functions that can be used in a business contest.
The following part of the course is focused on how a spreadsheet can be used to build business models.
The last part of the course deals with the implementation of macros and new functions.

Course Delivery

The course includes practical lessons in computer laboratory to apply the problem solving methodoligies that will be explained during the same lessons.

Course Evaluation

Evaluation is based on different assignments, written test and practical solution of given problems.
