Learning Objectives

Through the main topics of the course, the student will be able to have a detailed picture of all the financing opportunities which an enterprise can activate in order to start the activity, to grow on the market, or to change during the maturity of its life cycle.

In detail, the focus will be on the private capital market.

Learning targets

At the end of the course the student will be able:

  1. To design corporate’s decisions in the financial market;
  2. To identify the proper type of finance concerning corporate’s financial needs;
  3. To approach different kind of financial institutions in order to raise debt and equity capital.

  • LBO financing
  • External growth and add-on strategies
  • Fintech for growth
  • Divestments and going public: SPAC and IPO
  • Private debt market
  • Due diligence

Course Delivery

The first part of the course (Sessions 1-9) focuses on private equity and venture capital industry, also through case histories presented by guest speakers. Concerning the second part (Sessions 10-15), the course will explore all the other innovative financial channels, in order to achieve a dimentional growth.

Material, slides and case studies are published on the website of the course on “my.liuc.it”, and are available for the students.

Course Evaluation

Only attending students can pass the exam through a mid-term and a final written exam. In order to have access to the second written exam the minimum mark for the first exam is 16/30.

Non attending students or attending students who failed one of the written exams have to sustain a global oral final exam.
