Guida dello studente: International Program A.Y. 2006/07

ARRIVAL

HOW TO REACH LIUC

By air
The Malpensa International Airport is only 20 minutes from the university so please ensure that you book a flight for this airport. The other two Milanese airports - Linate and Orio al Serio are over an hour's journey from the university by car and are not well connected by public transport to Castellanza.
The ESN student association organises a pick up service for students arriving at Malpensa only.

Pick up service
Ensure that you have sent the arrival form, duly completed, to the International Office by the deadlines stated under "ENROLMENT PROCEDURE" if you wish to be met by a student at the Malpensa International Airport. The student will accompany you to your accommodation. The pick-up service runs Monday to Friday in the week prior to orientation. You will receive an e-mail with the pick up confirmation and more information a couple of days before your arrival (if the international office received your ARRIVAL FORM by the deadline).

By train from Malpensa
Alternatively, you can take the Malpensa Express train at the airport to Saronno and change to the Novara line for Castellanza (2 stops). The station is a 10 minutes walk from the University.  You can also change in Busto Arsizio and take the Milan train to Castellanza (1 stop).

By car
If you are travelling by car, Castellanza has its own motorway exit on the A-8 Motorway between Milan and the Lakes. You will find details on how to reach the university on the website but do not hesitate to contact us if you need driving instructions.

By train
Castellanza is not on the State railway line, so if you arrive at Milan Central Station, you will need to transfer to the Milan Cadorna station. You can take the green metro line (3 stops). Here you take the Milan-Novara line, which stops in Castellanza.  You can access information about train times to Castellanza at the Ferrovie Nord website - www.ferrovienord.it.

ARRIVAL DATES
We recommend international students to arrive in the week before Orientation. Upon arrival, all students should go to the International Office, located in the main courtyard of the University for information on the orientation week.
