Learning Objectives
This course aims to prepare students to effectively and efficiently manage the activities that take place during the Planning and Mangerial Control Process. At the end of the course students will be able to:
* project and implement management accounting and related analytical methodologies for decision making and control in profit-oriented organizations
* manage product costing, budgetary control activities, and performance evaluation systems for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the performance of a business.
* determine principles of measurement and develops framework for assessing behavioral dimensions of control systems, impact of different managerial styles on motivation and performance in an organization.

1. Become familiar with what accounting information is typically used within the firm.
2. Develop an understanding of how accounting information is used by managers in the decision making process.
3. Consider how accounting information can be used to motivate members of the firm or as a mechanism to control their behavior.

Course Delivery
The course is organized in the form of workshops with exercises, testimonials and case studies that complement the more traditional theory class and therefore requires the active participation of the student.
The student is asked to prepare in advance to the lesson also expanding sources in addition to educational materials using, therefore, readings identified through a personal research on internet, in the library and reading through magazines.
The student is encouraged to participate actively in a project work in teams. This is a valuable opportunity to learn, in a participative and operating manner, some of the fundamental concepts of the course.
The student is required to regularly consult the website of the course in "my.liuc.it" in which are inserted in-depth materials, slides and all updates regarding the course itself.
Course Etiquette
In order to ensure maximum effectiveness of the learning process and the success of the educational activity, students are required to strictly observe the following rules of conduct both for personal interest and for the respect of colleagues:
1. Comply with the timetable agreed with the teacher in the classroom for the arrival and the start of classes. Do not leave the courtroom in advance without having previously agreed output with the teacher;
2. Before class to provide turn off cell phones and laptops and keep them off for the duration of the lesson;
3. Did not continue to go out and enter the classroom disrupting the smooth running of the lesson

During the course, teachers will provide students with articles and papers to support each specific lessons.
In the course website will be regurarly made available to the students the slides, exercises (texts and solutions), cases (texts and solutions) and further readings (working papers).

Course Evaluation
The final evaluation, for students attending will be so done:
• 40%: participation in the classroom (discussion cases, exercises, case studies presented);
• 60%: written examination.
Non-attending students are provided with a written examination supplemented by an oral examination
