Starting from the meaning of choice as "output of an analysis process", a suitable technological choice comes from the balance between what could be a priori expected by a defined technology and, considering the company culture/implicit behaviour, what can be achieved, That said - and considering that a technological choice involves an innovation content for the organization that is going to afford it - the first part of the course will include some models related to:

the ablities that an organizational entity must own in order to generate and implement "its-own" innovation,
    the decisional process,
the internal context analysis (that, looking at the course target, will include some tools related to the organizational analysis and to the risks evaluation).

Such topics, that are meant as conditions necessary for the optimization of the up-mentioned balance, are preparatory to the analysis of the potentialities that could come from the involvement of external resources, whose issue are treated as in the following:

modularity, that will be expounded looking at the typicalities of a modular design and as introduction to the outsourcing choices,
companies’ networks, whose meaning, typologies and coordination mechanisms will be discussed in depth.
